Currently, the Hotel offers rooms with plasma TV, air conditioning and safety box. It also has a swimming pool heated by solar cells, ensuring a temperature close to +- 80º Fahrenheit year-round.

Entre las anécdotas de Hotel Casa Colonial se encuentra que se filmó aquí en el año de 1983 la película Romancing the Stone que en español se tituló, Dos bribones tras la esmeralda perdida, Protagonizada por Michael Douglas y Kathleen Turner, una de las mejores parejas que se hayan visto en el cine de los '80.además con Danny de Vito y Alfonso Araú.

Otra de las anécdotas es que desde las azoteas de Casa Colonial se ejecutaban disparos intentando matar a Harrison Ford en la película Peligro Inminente en 1994, que en ingles se tituló Clear and present Danger, la cual fue filmada en su mayoría en el estado de Morelos, principalmente en el Centro Histórico de Cuernavaca y en Tepoztlán.

En la calle de Netzahualcoyotl han vivido importantes personajes de la industria cinematográfica, como lo puede ser Alan Delon, Hellen Hayes hospedada en la casa de la fontana, en la casa Brady se hospedaba Josephine Baker y John Huston, fueron tiempos en los que desfilaban muchos artistas en la ciudad. etc.
